Lewis-Palmer Board of Education
Board of Education meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and are open to the public. Portions of meetings may sometimes be closed for private executive session, which is indicated on the meeting agenda. Public comments are taken at the beginning of each regular meeting.††Board of Education members represent†separate geographical areas within Lewis-Palmer School District.† These areas should not be confused with attendance boundaries; rather, they†are intended to†divide the district into†areas of equal population.†

PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2015-16 SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET
Notice is hereby given that a proposed budget has been submitted to the Board of Education of Lewis-Palmer Consolidated School District No. 38 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2016, and is available for public inspection at the District Administration Office. A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held during the regular meeting of the Board of Education of said District at the Administration Office, 146 Jefferson Street, Monument, Colorado, on June 18, 2015, at 6:00 pm. Such proposed budget will be considered for adoption at the same meeting following the public hearing. Any person paying school taxes in said District may at any time prior to the final adoption of the budget file or register his/her objections thereto.
BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY - DIRECTOR DISTRICT NO. 5
The Lewis-Palmer School District Board of Education is accepting applications for a Board vacancy in Director District 5.

The Board will accept completed applications through Friday, June 5, 2015 at 12:00 pm. The complete application should include a letter of intent, a resume, and written answers to a questionnaire (found here). A qualified applicant must be a resident of Director District 5 (link to map) and a registered voter in the Lewis-Palmer School District for at least 12 consecutive months prior to appointment.

All applications must be received in the Superintendentís office by 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015. They may be hand delivered to 146 Jefferson Street or mailed to Lewis-Palmer Board of Education, Attention: District 5 Applications, P.O. Box 40, Monument, CO 80132. The Board will interview prospective candidates at a special public meeting to be convened on Monday, June 8, 2015. Call 481-9546 for more information.

State law provides for the Board of Education to appoint a new member after posting the vacancy and conducting public interviews of applicants. An appointment must be made within 60 days after the vacancy has occurred. The appointee will serve until the next regular school biennial election is conducted in November 2015.
